Can't believe I am just finding this place. A true authentic Chinese gem in Cambridge, conveniently located on Massachusetts Ave. I will be coming here again on the weekend! Great food, just like being in Chinatown in my opinion. I love how each dish has plenty of chili peppers and Szechuan peppercorns. Delicious!

Loved the food! Perfect spices, super tasty. Had the crab rangoon for appetizer, really good. Highly recommend the Mala noodle soup bowl. Also, loved the sichuan special cellophane noodles with minced pork. Definitely coming back again.

It's about time I write a review for this place, I've been coming here for a little while now. I love the food, workers, and the calm peaceful vibe. The food here is better than the Chinatown location. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I hope they stay open for as long as I live!

Dan Dan noodles, spring rolls and hot & sour soup, all outstanding.

Five Spices always serves up a spicy, salty party for the mouth. It used to be one of my favorite lunch special restaurants -- less than 10 for soup, rice, and a large entree, or 24 for 3 entrees. The prices have since increased and the portion sizes have decreased (even pre-pandemic) but I shan't forget the good old days! I especially enjoyed that their lunch specials weren't just the cheapest items but included items that I would normally order for dinner (like spicy boiled fish fillet, which is normally 18 in other restaurants). For dinner I enjoy ordering their pickled pepper fish fillet soup which was 11. The dry pot is also good though oily and expensive. Good to share in a group! During the pandemic I also tried their dry chili chicken which was delicious. Overall Five Spices knows what they're doing with their flavors and never lets me down in that regard. It's just pricey...

Great restaurant for Sichuan spicy chinese food. Recommend Hot and spicy fish fillet, Mopo tofu or eggplant with garlic sauce. Vegeterian options are many. Its on the mass ave and some street parkings are available by chance.

My wife found Five Spices House via google search and I’m super happy we dined here. We selected Vegetable fried rice, two tofu dishes one being sweet and the other spices. They were great together. The atmosphere and seating were good. Clean restrooms. The water was also good. We can highly recommend Five Spices House if you are looking for very flavorful Asian food. Returned for our second time. Same meal but added a soup.

How is it possible I’ve been living / working in Camberville for a decade and only just discovered this food??? Best green beans I ever had in my life (I don’t even like green beans - they are a dysfunctional vegetable). These are blistered enough to have the floppiness of a noodle on your chopsticks but still retain a good bite while achieving the impossible and actually holding onto the flavourful sauce. Magic. The chicken and garlic sauce is beautifully seasoned and rich with a variety of perfectly cooked vegetables. The signature fried rice is beautifully balanced with lots of small diced goodies and ideal graininess without being oily. Can’t wait to eat my way through this menu.
